Good evening, y’all. I hope you are having a great week so far and thankfully tomorrow is Friday! Let’s go ahead and read Exodus 2 and learn about the Mothers of Moses. We don’t have a lot of information on these two women but we do know that they stood up for their beliefs despite facing serious consequences.Moses’ mother, Jochebed, knew she could be killed for keeping her son alive. She trusted that God would keep Moses safe when she placed him in the Nile. Pharoah’s daughter took pity on the baby and raised him as her own knowing he was Hebrew and that her father had ordered for them all to be killed. That was a risk she was willing to take and saved a baby’s life.
These women stood with their convictions and morals and because of their bravery they got to be mothers. Moses was blessed to have two women in his life who loved him. As we read, we see that God blessed Moses with a wife, home, and family. God blesses those who honor and obey Him. He uses our stories for goodness. If we had never got through hardships we’d never encourage each other.
Let’s discuss what we just read. I have some questions that I want you to think about, write them down, and if you’d like to comment below we can discuss them together!
1. What did we learn about God and His character in the lives of the Mothers of Moses?
2. What character qualities, positive or negative, do we see in the Mothers of Moses?
3. What can I learn from the Mothers of Moses? story and apply it to my own life?
God uses our darkest moments for His glory and purpose. He will never forsake us. No matter how bad our situations get God is always there. He will use our hurt for good, He will use our brokenness for His glory. There is always goodness in the Father’s plan for us.
I hope you enjoy this study and decide to come back. Tomorrow, we’ll learn about Rahab and how God moved in her life. I hope you enjoy the beautiful sunset that was made by our loving Father and y’all have a wonderful night.
